Don’t Cap My Care Events – (Raleigh and Throughout, North Carolina)
LocationSpring Policy Forum
3415 Wake Forest Rd
On June 6th, thousands of people will rally across the U.S. to protect Medicaid. And we’ve come up with a way you can join from wherever you are in 2 minutes are less… Please share widely in your networks.
What are we facing? If the House-passed American Health Care Act became law and President Trump’s budget was enacted, Medicaid would be cut by more than $1 Trillion dollars over 10 years. You read that right. Trillion with a T.
The good news is we have a critical window of time while the Senate deliberates on its health care bill, and with this email, you can join in from anywhere in the state.
1. Pop-up Rally at the Council for Community Programs’ Spring Policy Forum
The Arc is hosting a pop-up photo booth for Policy Forum on Tuesday, June 6th. If you’re registered for this ticketed event, check us out! The Arc will be staffing a booth with Medicaid signs, a photo area, social media frames, and a handy list of social media handles for every lawmaker in our federal delegation.
2. Rally Where you Are
Not registered for the forum? Live and work outside of Raleigh? We’re sending you the tools you’ll need to rally with us from your couch, your office, or even your car. Linked in this event are two things:
- Social media handles for all NC federal lawmakers. Print it or save it to your computers so you have an easy way to reach out moving forward.
- PDFs of the signage we are using in our booth. If one sign (or more) speaks to you or your family member- print it! Take a selfie holding up the sign that fits your message, or get someone to take a picture of you (and others) holding it up! And send it to your lawmakers. (If you want to confirm you Representative, click here. )
PLEASE, please, tag The Arc of North Carolina in anything you send out so we can see it and amplify your advocacy!
This is a critical time, and we need you. We know you have heard from us over and over, but we wouldn’t be reaching out to you now if it wasn’t a really important issue for so many people in North Carolina. We truly appreciate your advocacy, and we know it makes a difference! Don’t stop sharing your stories. They need to be heard.
I’m eager to hear how this pop-up advocacy event works for you, your members and networks. As always, let me know how The Arc can support your efforts.
